Dr. Ziad Omar

BSc, DDS, MCID, FRCD(C)

CERTIFIED SPECIALIST IN ORTHODONTICS

Dr. Ziad Omar is a long time resident of Mississauga. After attending Applewood Heights Secondary School, Dr. Omar was admitted to the University of Toronto where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Anthropology in 1994. He was placed on the Dean’s Honour list and received several awards and scholarships. Upon finishing his degree, Dr. Omar was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with High Distinction. Following his graduation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Omar completed an optional General Practice Residency at the Hospital For Sick Children where he was trained in the dental management of children and adolescents.

After working for several years as a general dentist, Dr. Omar returned to Graduate School and earned a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the University of Western Ontario. He was also awarded a Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Omar holds a dual licence in Ontario as a general dentist and a certified specialist in Orthodontics. Dr. Omar is registered as a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario AND the Royal college of Dentists of Canada. He remains active in teaching orthodontics as an Adjunct Clinical Professor with the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Omar is a Certified Invisalign Provider. He remains up to date on the forefront of his specialty through attending regular continuing education courses and conventions. He is also an active member of many organizations including the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Dental Association, Halton-Peel Dental Association, The Canadian Dental Association, SA Dental Association, Great Lakes Orthodontic Society, and The American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Omar is the Past President of the Toronto Orthodontic Study Club, an organization that is dedicated to the scientific advancement of orthodontic education.

Dr. Omar’s thesis entitled Profile changes following extraction orthodontic treatment: A comparison of first versus second premolar extraction was published in the peer-reviewed Journal of International Orthodontics. To read the study, please click here.

Stefania has been with our practice for many years. From early morning to evening, she tries her best to accommodate everyone’s schedule. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching scary movies, training, and spending time with her family.

Mehwish has been with our practice almost since we started. You will recognize Mehwish with her outgoing personality and genuine interest in people. No matter what time the appointment is, her smile can be transparent even through her protective mask. When she is not at the office, Mehwish is busy with her young family.

Sarvin is a dental hygienist with real passion for orthodontics. Her well mannered personality will make your visit a comfortable and fun one. She is ready to help you with any procedure or concern. When she is not working, you will find her hiking and exploring new places.

Lina is one of our skilled Dental assistants. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular patient of ours, you’ll notice how friendly and cheerful she is. She’s also a certified level II dental assistant. She loves to educate patients about their oral health. Apart from spending time with her husband and kids, she aspires to continuously develop her skills & learn new things .

Rula comes from an orthodontic background. She brings in tons of experience to our office in terms of patient care. You will find Rula either busy with patients or helping her team mates. Her positive attitude is very contagious. When Rula is not at the office,  she is keeping herself busy reading and hiking

Eman is a certified level II dental assistant. Her attention to every detail is unique. She’s always easy to talk to and is passionate about her job. She strives to make sure  you are as comfortable and relaxed as possible during your visits, and is more than happy to answer any concerns you might have. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Patient Coordinator

Taha comes from a dental background. You’ll find him ensuring that everything is running smoothly. From equipment monitoring to instruments sterilization to assigning patients to their chairs, Taha is there to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency. When Taha is not at the office he enjoys reading and watching soccer.
